The last time I beat her, she bit my manhood —HusbandA middle-aged housewife, Shakirat, has asked a Mapo Customary Court in Ibadan, Oyo State capital, to put an end to the marriage between her and Rasheed Olanrewaju over his alleged habit of beating her before having sex with her.
In her statement, Shakirat, a trader, told the court that Olanrewaju, a brickayer, had made it a habit to beat her before having sex with her.
“Anytime I don’t allow him to have sex with me, he has made it a routine to give me thorough beating.
“ I have scars on me due to his regular beatings.
“Just three weeks ago, he beat me till I nearly fainted.
“I can’t stand for long as I used to due to the wounds he inflicted on me,” she said.
In his defence, Olanrewaju said his wife was used to leaving home and returning whenever it pleased her.
“The last time I beat Shakirat, she bit my manhood.
“It’s true I sometimes beat her, but I still love her,” he said.
The judge, Chief Henry Agbaje, adjourned the case till May 12
