Angry mob set 3 suspected kidnappers ablaze

Three people, suspected to be kidnappers, were early hours of Wednesday set ablaze by an angry mob at Gas Line Bus Stop, Sango Ota area of Ogun State, for allegedly kidnapping four people.

The accused persons allegedly killed one of their victims, before the three others were rescued by a gang of commercial motorcyclists, who chased their vehicle.

Nigerian Tribune gathered that the wailing of the victims, who were reportedly trapped in the vehicle, attracted the commercial motorcyclists.
The angry mob defied the efforts of policemen, who initially arrived at the scene to take the accused persons to the station, by setting the accused persons ablaze.
While two of the victims died on the spot, the other raced to Olaotan Bus Stop, before he eventually slumped and died.
The victims of the incident were later taken to Sango Ota divisional police station, where investigations had commenced into the incident.
An eyewitness, who simply identified himself as Ade, while speaking with the Nigerian Tribune, said that “the okada people saw them at Sango but the kidnappers drove away.”
The eyewitness added that “the people caught up with them at this place and after they rescued the victims and spoke with them, they set the kidnappers on fire.”
The slain suspects were said to have killed one of their victims, whose remains were carefully packed in a polythene bag.
Another eyewitness, who pleaded anonymity, said that the people did not deny that they were kidnappers and that they wanted to use those people for rituals.
