Nothing less was expected especially since it was the daughter of the President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan that was getting married.
A bright day it was on April 12, 2013. Many dignitaries gathered for the ceremony which started at 10am prompt and it brought together top government officials, clergies, governors and senators and other well-meaning Nigerians
It was a day to be remembered for the President, Dr Goodluck Jonathan and his wife Patience as they watch their daughter, Faith Sakwe, exchange vows and rings with her husband, Godswill Osim, son of Chief and Mrs Osim from Cross-River State.
From the prayers, to the signing of their marriage register, the bride in her lovely wedding dress and groom rounded off at the church service, and got into their beautiful horse carriage and zoomed off to the reception in a grand style.
Guests were hosted to a grand reception at the International Conference Centre, with most of the guests clothed in the colours for the day – light green and peach – adding more beauty to the ceremony.
It’s only expected for large turnout of guest, as past presidents and other well-meaning guests joined the families as they welcome the couple into the reception.
One of the high points of the ceremony was a dance between the bride and her father, Mr President. Taking the fun a notch higher, there were beautiful music performances by Nigerian artiste, D’Banj, as the couple did their first official dance as Mr and Mrs Osim.
No doubt this would certainly be the happiest day for the couple who have begun another journey together.
