The singer and his bodyguard were arrested and charged with assault in Washington, D.C., in October 2013 following an alleged altercation with another man, according to E! News.
Parker Adams, 20, said during Thursday's testimony that he suffered a broken nose and other injuries to his face after Brown and Hollosy struck him with back-to-back punches outside the W Hotel, Reuters reported.
Adams told a District of Columbia Superior Court that he and his two female friends approached the R&B singer, who agreed to have his photo taken with the two women. However, when Adams tried to get into the photo, he said Brown made a homophobic remark, allegedly telling him "I'm not into that gay shit."
Hollosy told police he punched the man after the man tried to get on Brown's tour bus. Adams testified he was punched below the nose by Brown.
"As I put my dukes up, that's when the bodyguard stepped in between us and he slugged me in the face," Adams said.
Court papers said the man's nose was fractured. Both Brown and Hollosy have pleaded not guilty to the assault charges.
The 24-year-old singer was on probation when he was arrested. He rejected a plea agreement, which is why he will face trial, likely as soon as Friday.
Brown stands to face jail time if he is convicted because the assault charge would violate his parole, officials said.
He was jailed in March after authorities said he violated his probation when he was dismissed from a facility, where he was receiving court-ordered treatment in relation to the assault case filed in 2009 by his then-girlfriend, singer Rihanna.
Since the 2009 sentence, Brown has been involved in several altercations, including with rapper Drake and his entourage at a New York nightclub and with R&B singer Frank Ocean in a parking lot in Los Angeles.
